Visa Information
Semester
Students who do not have a valid European Union member country passport must obtain a Czech long-term visa in order to study in the Czech Republic. Students should apply for a visa as soon as they are accepted into the program. The visa process can take up to 90 days.
Once accepted, ECES will provide pre-departure assistance. All accepted students will receive visa application instructions, an official acceptance letter and other supporting documents, which will be submitted with the visa application.
Summer
Since the duration of the summer term is less than 90 days, the majority of students (e.g. U.S. and Canadian passport holders) do not need to apply for a Czech short-term visa. For all other countries, please go to: Czech Embassies & Consulates Around the World.
